Where is Down Converys Lane located?

Down Converys Lane is a collective of unique and original dairy farm outbuildings that have been re –purposed and lovingly restored set within 4 acres of natural rainforest gardens. We are situated at 12 Converys Lane, Wollongbar NSW and are conveniently located close to Ballina, Lismore, Alstonville, Byron Bay and Bangalow, within easy access to airports in both Ballina and Lismore.

Is Down Converys Lane available for ‘Ceremony Only’ or Photography sessions?

On your wedding day you are offered exclusive use of Down Converys Lane’s unique and private grounds for the whole day thus we reserve the use of our venue for couples who embrace our wedding package inclusions and host their ceremony and reception with us. Our enviable photographic opportunities are also reserved only for Down Converys Lane newlyweds.  The convenience of hosting your wedding ceremony and reception at Down Converys Lane allows your guests the opportunity to relax and enjoy the celebrations from the moment they arrive without the need to travel between venues. Down Converys Lane also offers the set up and use of the venue for your wedding ceremony at no additional charge.

What are your minimum number of guests?

At Down Converys Lane our minimum quota is 50 adult guests.

What are our closing times?

Our curfew times are 9.30pm Music Off and all Patrons are to vacate the premises by 10.00pm at which time the gates will be closed.

Can I supply my own decorations?

Yes you are able to supply any of your own personalised décor items that will reflect your individual style. The venue is themed with wine barrels, historic wagons and other unique heritage items which all lend a definite WOW factor to the overall experience and ambience. Table decorations such as tea lights and glass holders are provided as part of our inclusions however some other decorations are also available at an additional cost. Assistance with access to and coordination of external providers can also be provided as required.

Do our belongings need to be removed from the venue at the end of the evening?

No. You certainly do not need to clean or clear the venue. At the completion of the evening, our staff will pack all your belongings away safely for collection the following day.

Do I need a wedding venue/function co-ordinator?

Venue and wedding co-ordination is our specialty! Personalised service is what we are all about so on your special day every detail is professionally managed by Down Converys Lane’s on-site owner/managers. From table and decoration set up through to the co-ordination of your vendors, we can provide as much or as little support as you may require.

Do you have facilities for disabled access?

Our venue is designed to accommodate disabled access with ramps, flat covered walkways and wheelchair friendly amenities.

Is there any accommodation available?

Whilst we do not have accommodation on site, Down Converys Lane enjoys close proximity to many accommodation options within the immediate local area. As part of our Inclusions we provide a 12 seater bus to assist with the transportation of your guests to one destination within the local area.

What parking is available for guests?

Upon entry to the venue our Concierge will welcome your guests and direct them to our ample on-site Bus & Car Parking areas. Overnight car parking is also available.

What happens if it rains?

In the event of unfavourable weather conditions Down Converys Lane is unique in our ability to offer the use of our beautifully converted Stables for your wedding ceremony and canapés.
Our purpose built Barn Style Reception Pavilion is weather proof with feature ambient heating and decorative ceiling fans available for your comfort.

Do I need to supply my own caterer?

As part of our Inclusions, Down Converys Lane provides 1 Hour Post Ceremony Canapes and a sumptuous 2 Course Wedding Feast which is prepared by our exclusive In House Chefs. Menus are seasonal and the most generous of proportions are on offer for every course. The elegant and sophisticated country style theme of our venue is reflected both in the setting and on the plate with farmhouse influences sumptuously prepared and presented for the enjoyment and fulfilment of you and your special guests.

What style of receptions are offered?

At Down Converys Lane we specialise in our signature Wedding Feast Banquet Shared Platter presentation. Our beautifully decorated reception and dance area is large enough to allow for a variety of table and seating options specifically designed to suit your individual requirements. Please contact us for further details or to discuss your specific ideas.

At Down Converys Lane we offer seasonal menu selections using only the freshest of local ingredients. Our Exclusive In House Chefs develop dishes based upon our traditional ‘ farm house style’ and our Banquet Style Wedding Feasts are designed to embrace the essence of our unique historic surroundings. Menu selections are provided during our scheduled Wedding & Venue Planning Meeting and along with any Special Dietary Requirements are to be finalised at least one month prior to your event.

Does Down Converys Lane cater for special dietary requirements?

Yes! With prior notice our In House Chefs are able to cater for all dietary requirements. Crew Meals for vendors such as photographers etc. are also provided free of charge.

What does BYO mean?

Our BYO alcohol option allows you the opportunity to pre purchase premium beverage selections at discounted prices prior to your wedding. The provision of a Cool Room and Ice is included and the on-site cold storage of your supplies is managed by our staff.  In conjunction with roving tray service, a unique dedicated bar is conveniently situated and is used during the 1 hour service of canapés with individual table service of wine, beer, champagne etc. provided during your reception.

What staff are provided?

Upon arrival through to the close of your function your guests will be served by our professional and dedicated Beverage and Wait staff.  From our Creative Stylists who attend to your table décor placement with fastidious attention to detail to our Plongeur and Catering staff, Down Converys Lane is fortunate to have an enthusiastic team who love their work and are committed to providing excellence at all levels.
